The Battle Belongs To The Lord

What impossible situation(s) are you dealing with today?  A bad report from the doctor?  A foreclosure notice on your home?  A wayward child?  A spouse leaving you?

This week I felt the Lord giving me a Prophetic Word for seeing the impossible become possible through the God who said with Him ALL things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

The instructions God gave me for victory over the impossible situations we are facing is that we  are to Sing, Praise and Worship over these problems!  The finished work of the cross means we already have what we need spiritually, physically, mentally and financially! God has already provided everything we need for life and godliness.

2 Peter 1:3 NIV

3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

I can hear some of you saying, “You expect me to sing, praise and worship God as if I already had what I am believing for? Do you really think God will do the impossible in my life by my simply singing, praising and worshipping Him?” Absolutely!  The Bible tells us that the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world!

2 Cor 10:2-6 NIV

3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

When Jesus died on the cross and rose again on the third day, he purchased our healing and wholeness spiritually, physically, mentally and financially!   Since everything we need is already taken care of…we just need to begin to praise and worship Him for our provision!

The Bible passage that God brought to my mind as an example of what we are to do to cause the impossible to become the possible, is 2 Chron 20:1-29.  I encourage you to read the entire passage on your own.

The bottom line about the 2 Chronicles 20 passage is King Jehoshaphat received word that a vast army was coming against his kingdom (Judah and Jerusalem) and they were greatly outnumbered!  In the natural they were about to be destroyed. So King Jehoshaphat inquired of the Lord via prayer and fasting.  King Johoshaphat knew the Word of God and reminded God that He promised to protect them (verses 6-11).

The King and the people began to pray and fast.  One of the Levites received a “word of knowledge” from the Spirit of God.  See below.

2 Chron 20:15-17 NIV

15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'”

The word God sent caused all the people to enter into praise and worship to God.  I believe this is a sign of true faith that the people believed what God said and were thanking Him before they saw the results!  This is exactly what God is asking of you and me.  He wants us:

1)      To believe His Word…His instructions

2)      To not be afraid or discouraged

3)      To know that the battle is His battle, not your battle!

4)      For some of you God is going to give you Intel about the location of your enemy or Intel that you need to know about your enemy.  (see verse 16)

5)      The next step is to take our positions, which is to stand, lift up holy hands and begin to sing/praise/worship Him.

6)      Then He wants us to begin thanking Him for the needed provision which He has already provided through the finished work of the cross before we see our provision!

2 Chron 20:21-22

21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:

“Give thanks to the LORD,

for his love endures forever.”

22 As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.

It may be easy for you and me to hear a story like this and not feel the full impact of it.  What if you were the first singer on the front line marching towards what in the natural was a suicide mission?  They did not go out singing and swinging swords! No, they only went forth with their voices and no weapons!  In the earthly natural realm they were headed out like lambs to the slaughter!

What army uses the strategy of sending out the singers to sing and praise the Lord at the head of the army? God’s ways are not our ways!  The truth is you and I are never fighting flesh and blood!  The enemy is behind the flesh and blood that comes against us.

Eph 6:12 NIV

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Notice “as they began” (verse 22) obediently to go out to meet the enemy by singing and praising God, God defeated their enemies for them as He promised!  The people stepped out in faith believing that God would keep His Word.  I can only imagine how proud God was of His people for trusting Him by being obedient to instructions that boggle the natural mind!

When God’s instructions for our victory are to sing, praise and worship and we sing, praise and worship, WE WIN!

Again, the Word of the Lord for us is to begin singing, praising and worshiping over our impossibilities (home in foreclosure, spouse leaving, wayward child, bad report from the doctor and so forth) and watch God turn the impossible into the possible!

  •  I give thanks to You God, for Your mercy endures forever.
  • Thank you for healing my body.
  • Thank You God that I am debt free.
  • Sing the worship songs you know to Him.
  • Praise in the Spirit and with the Understanding
  • To God be the glory great things He has done!

Now watch as God battles for you! The divine exchange!  What a deal!  God gets all of our problems and we get His very best!  VICTORY IN THE NAME OF JESUS!

You are not reading this by accident.  God caused you to read this blog and He is asking you to sing/praise/worship your way to victory.  The Battle Belongs to the Lord!  Begin to praise, worship or make a joyful sound and watch God destroy your enemy of lack…spiritually, physically, mentally and/or financially!  He will bring restoration and deliverance!  Trust God!
